Nice pics, how big is your biggest one? And what kind is it exactly?

Nice pics, how big is your biggest one? And what kind is it exactly?

The biggest and most skittish is around 20" - The smaller of the 2 in the pics above is about 14".

I'm not exactly sure of the exact species as they somewhat resemble the chaitzami, however lack the full body spots, and are bigger...

In this pic on the left is one of my Chaitzami "The older and largest at around 14", which passed away a few months back - And on the right is the smaller of the pair I have now

Again the smaller of the current pair - Hard to see in the pics, but the back has small black dots on it

Here is the larger of the 2, and notice his coloration has been changing over the last few months - lower section anyhow - Maybe Green Ameiva's :?:

The picture of the two in the tub confused me for a moment. It looked like they were clinging to a smooth wall in a corner. I was thinking "Wow!! I didn't know ameiva climbed like geckos!!"

Then I realized the water :P

Cool looking guys!! I seen some forsale on the auctions. I thought about buying some. Do they get tame?

They are quite fast and, like to climb and jump - "No Fear" - Tame well probably not as smart and trusting as an Argentine but some do accept human contact and will crawl up in your hand.

I've had 2 pairs of Ameivas, and one out of each of the pairs was pretty mellow, while the other 2 were a little more scared of me :? - The pics above in the window are of the one that likes to come out and play  - Does not try to run and hide, lets you go over and pick him up, while the larger of the 2, I cannot take out as he will run from my hand in the 1st place trying to get him out, will bi-pedal across the room from me, and get in some kind of nook and cranny to hide.

The one that passed away, and I've had the longest was the coolest little girl ever - She would want to come out almost daily and just hang around you, next to you, on you, in your shirt pocket

She was named Slick, and if Ameivas are supposed to be all flighty, nippy, and non-tameable - Well I've had better luck with Ameiva's than Colombians and they never attempted to ever bite me 8)

RIP Slick :(

yea, definatly a green ameiva Teiidae, not sure subspecies though (not petersi)
i recently obtained 2 juvenile tiger ameivas (A. Festiva)
sadly one was extremely emaciated and passed but the other is adapting very well and has a large appetite

Yea I was thinking Green Ameiva's because of their size, but could not find no pics that looked like mine out of the 35 or so species out there, and now that the larger is turning green, Well I will assume they are Green's than - I guess I was seeking more opinions, however there are few that keep them.

They are more easy to please though than my chaitzami when it comes to feeding - The chaitzami would only eat crickets and the occaional rare superworm - These guys will eat whatever turkey mix I got going on for the Tegu's, pinky mice "When I treat them to one", Love the superworms, and pound alot of crickets down

Good looking A Festiva by the way 8)
