id say about 5 females per 10 gal.. so thatd be about 2 1/2 half per 5 gal but if ur going to cut them up you might wanna just feed them to angel.. hahahahahah

 I can't count my pinkies before their laid.
txrepgirl ...... I dunno  if everything works out I really dunno

I have to wait for them to grow up then there is 'Bear', Bernadette, Baxter and then there is slicing time for Angelrose ..

I am looking for that beau for Angelrose and I am looking closely at the arg. b/w. you never know what reptile I will bring home.

meanah, thank you ...are you sure
I usually put 1 per 5 gallon. but, this is the most I had at one time. you breed them also

yeah i breed as well but i have only 1 male and 2 females per 10 gal. just cause i dont want to have 100s of pinkies haha.. but rick said one could have 1 male and 5 females per 10 gal. so i listen to him

I make sure I have extras
in case a female eats her pinkies
I always have better luck when I put 2 males and about 4 or 5 females together at first. the 2 males will fight. the loser becomes part of the "groceries"

besides I can always freeze'em :P

01-29-2008, 04:05 AM
hahaha nice
but dont just throw them in the freezer... kill them some how.. ie. break their necks. haha

01-29-2008, 01:09 PM
ha, ha ...
nah, I much rather slice them up and freeze them so I can organize the freezer. the heads come first, heart section and so on down to the tail and then I have to label each one .......
and for the very hungry reptile we have them whole also

lol........

lmao i dont even bother breeding . some dude near me breeds hundreds of rats a month and sell pinky rats for about 7cents each canadian. so i can get like 100 pinky's for 7$ its pretty sweet.

no fair i wish i had that hook up. dang dude

12-15-2009, 11:08 PM
i'd keep like 10-20 mice per 10gal

I used to work at a local herp shop and this lady would always come in and offer me mice and dubia for free because she had so many. Needless to say I took em... shoulda grabbed her number haha

When I breed I usually start with a ratio of 1 male to 2 females/ 10gal. Then once they do their business I seperate all of em into seperate 10gals. Then once babies are all taken care of by the mom I seperate the males and females-- usually end up keeping bout 10-15(MAX)/ 10gal (though usually though numbers get chopped down qucik fast and in a hurry-- darn hungry animals). Repeat :P Sorry for the rant.
