View Full Version : thermostat placement?
I am getting a new enclosure for a new baby. But I was wondering about where to place the probe. With my snakes its not a problem with burrowing or chewing the probe. Is this a problem with tegus? I would love to hear from all of you on this. I want to make a cozy home for the baby. Shan
Tegus will knock a probe around unless is mounted somewhere. They generally don't eat or chew them. You will need to be able to monitor the cool side and the hot side. I recommend a PE-1 Tempgun. It's cheap ($25) and you point it and press a button and it tells you the exact temp in that spot.

Should it be mounted on the back side or under the cypres mulch? Also what should it be mounted with? I have a temp gun for my snakes. Thank You, Shannon
