hi, grox's white scales around his head and neck are starting to get a grey/blue tint to them, is this normal or a relativly common coloration?

i only ask cause i thought to have any blue, your tegu had to be a hybrid.

i'll try to get ahold of a camera so you can see.

only if you believe blues are a different species

i guess i thought blues were colombian. and grox has two loreal scales i know that blues and reds can crossbreed. but i have never heard of regular columbians and argentinians crossbreeding.
so do regular arg b/w tegus ever colormorph blue?

blues being a subspecies of colombian is a myth perpetrated by people who clearly couldn't identify species in the first place. All scientific indication currently places blues as Tupinambis merianae. Many hobbyists refuse to acknowledge this as they for some reason beyond logic insist it has to be a different species. Even so, T.merianae is very, very polymorphic and can have many different colours, blue included.
As far as colombians and argentines crossing, there are some people who have claimed so, but I think that it was a matter of scamming to make a profit, not an actual accomplishment. Not saying it can't be done, just that there has been no solid proof, just a lot of hearsay.

he's not nearly that blue, it's just around his head and neck, and his tegu patterning is not like ron st pierre's, less black. i borrowed my aunts camera, tonight i'll do a little photo shoot, then you can judge for yourselves, as there is definatly some grey/blue there. you'll all be able to see my other little monsters as well.
