how soon after the female starts building her nest will she drop her eggs?

1 to 2 weeks after copulation. Ours took 2 weeks.

She gave me 52 large healthy eggs tonite..

8O 8O 8O Oh my God.Are you serious ? that's allot of eggs :lol: .Congrats on all of those eggs :wink: .Do you have any pics of the Tegu parents and the eggs ? that would be great.Good luck with the babies.

thanks, i raised these tegus indoors under uvb bulbs and gave them a lot of floor space..i goin to use perlite for incubating, ive bred bearded dragons and leopard geckos and havnt enjoyed vermeculite much..ive always had great success with perlite for years..

Wow.That's one cool looking incubator.Where did you get it ? how big is your enclosure ? are you using hay ? where did you get it ? did you bake it first to kill any parasites on it first ? thanks for any info you can give me.

ive never baked hay , i use it foe boas and my tegus never had a prob, that is an igloo cooler turned vertically, the plastic shoe boxes fit perfect in the grooves i use a heating mat with a thermosat that is used for seed heat mats i got from a hydro shop in pasadena.the aquarium is 6 ft.long..
