She has burrowed into that mound. I will be moving her to a 55 gal this summer.

Thank you for the insight. I think these are pretty interesting lil' buggers! What are their needs ?

They are the easiest pet to have clean there cage evey 6months. Dont need a big space at all. I feed mine every time they will eat but they can go 4 months + without food. A great site too go to is arachnoboards.com.
Good luck if you do get a tarantula it wont be long before you will have a few more. When I first saw them I thought how could anyone keep them so I decided to get one then from that point on I kept getting more.

Thank you much ian! I keep some tough animals to care for now. I am looking for others that require less care and are interesting.

No. Sorry to be so dense here  . I uploaded a picture I took a few weeks ago of a tarantula in the jungle. First I uploaded my picture to the Picasa photo sharing site, then I tried to use the IMG buttons with the URL to download it to this site. I don't know why it's just showing an icon. :?: :?: :?

Have you ever had a bite from one of them?

I have a G. Rosea that's pretty cool. She's handleable and pretty calm. I'd like to get a Mexican red knee. I was up at the reptile pet store a couple of weeks ago and one of their Rosies had an egg sac that hatched. They were separating out about 50 little spiders....so cute!!!
