I'm testing to see if I can upload an image.

I can't see this image unless I click to open it in a new tab. Can anyone see the image?

Cool spider. I used to be scared of them, but now I understand their purpose in nature and I love them!

I've work with my first tarentula at my reptile farm.

I have to admit that they are calmer, more gentle and docile that I was expected. They are truly great pet that can be lovable. Of course, they aren't the style of animal that you can pet for hours or give affection, but they can easily use human as a giant tree/land to walk.

They don't need a lot of place, are very easy to feed and are generally very docile when you handle them often. I recommended them to any reptile keeper who is looking for a very special and unique animal.

Great looking spider also ;)

I admit, they used to give me the willys ..lol. Since I have been looking at others I think they're fascinating and as Ben said 'special and unique' which is why I may get one ...8)

Thank you for letting me know that I finally made a successful upload. Now I just have to remember what I did that worked!

I don't remember the name of this species. It was about 4" across. I took the picture in a rain forest, not even in captivity. It had just crawled out of its burrow right there. I was amazed by how gracefully and smoothly it was moving. What shows in the picture that was harder to see at night are the beautiful colors, the curve of each leg, the little cloven hooves. I'm just taken aback by how complex a creature it is even though it is a "mere" invertebrate. And when I learn about it's hunting and living behavior, that is amazing!

Your welcome. I always thought that this spider ( in the link below ) looks very cool. If the spiders wouldn't give me the chills when I touch them I wouldn't mind having this one. I love the colors a lot.

They are really amazing! I just have a G. rosea, but she's a nifty little thing.

You know, invertebrates are very underappreciated...I love to get into conversations at educational shows about the social behaviors of hissing cockroaches. It's nice to dispel some phobias and prejudices. ;)

Hey, thank you for the ID, Pikey. It sent me googling for other pictures and I found this  site:

I love the way the name of each tarantula is simply a perfect description of what sets it apart from the other tarantulas.
