Well, one of my females laid 31 eggs today. We thought there were 32, but one is unaccounted for. We think she may have eaten it or else she has really buried it. I'll post some pics soon. Now she looks so skinny and pathetic. :( However, her tail is healing marvelously and she is eating. I've been trying to get her outside to bask a bit whenever possible.

My other female also bred, I'll have to see what she decides to do.:|

Good job Laura. Are they fertile? And most importantly, where are the pictures?????

They appear to be fertile...no yellow slugs. I'll candle them soon to look for developing vessels. I have to get the pics off my camera and upload them to photobucket. My girls are busy with end of the school year stuff, proms, dances, birthday (my youngest turned 14 yesterday..yikes!), and an upcoming ballet performance (trying to find her brand and size of pointe shoe is a bugger).

I'll get the pics up in the next day or two though.

You should be seeing a blood ring if you candle them now. I bet your about as excited as a kid on Christmas morning. I'll look forward to those pics.

Let's just say the incubator happens to be next to my bedside, lol! I didn't have any beardies or baby snakes last year, so I'm quite thrilled! I had to count days on the calendar. We vacation in June and I told my hubby that if it's close to hatching day, the eggs are going with us. My family rolled their eyes at me.

Well, maybe we don't have eggs. :( I candled them today. They aren't plumping and some look downright yucky all of a sudden. I didn't see any development, all yellow inside. I think maybe they are infertile. There are 2 or 3 that look OK and I couldn't see inside very well. But honestly, I'm not holding out hope.

I wonder if the female's follicles were too fully developed when she copulated with the male. Is that possible?

I'm so sorry to hear that :( . I never bred any of our Tegus yet so I don't know anything about how the eggs should look like. But 4 or 5 eggs in the last picture look good to me. I hope you will have some fertile eggs and some hatchlings. Do you think it could be because Blizzard went through some stress because of her tail ? She is very beautiful by the way ;) . Good luck and thank you for posting those cute photos :) .

Well, the verdict is that we definitely have 3 fertile eggs and the rest were infertile. Here are the the young-uns, all nestled in the third round of clean, fresh substrate.

My other female has made a burrow type of nest in her hay. I'll be ready for that clutch...bring 'em on! LOL!
