Hey my tegu always runs after my toes when i take him out of his cage to free roam. I try to walk slowly but he still thinks that its food for him. How do you think i should get him to stop thninking my toes are food?

I'd start clicker training. Pick up a dog clicker at any pet shop. When you feed the tegu "click" the dog clicker a few times. The tegu will associate the clicker with food and it's feeding response will be triggered by the unique clicking sound. This is not to say if he stumbles over a dish of food that the response will not kick in, it just helps the tegu realize the difference between "out to play time" and "ready to eat" time.

I like to let them eat their fill. Let them bask for a little while, then let them soak for 20 minutes or so. Then they are warm and mellow and not likely to make a mistake in your lap. :)

What makes you think it was a mistake?
