RIP Helix.
My heart goes out to you.
Aww...tears again. I'm just emotional I guess. This is Rexie, our almost 3yo Red Tegu that we lost during hibernation of unknown causes.

I'm sorry for your loss :( He was beautiful
RIP Helix,
Take comfort in knowing that he had a wonderful home with you while he was here. The pain will go away with time, but the memories you had of him will remain forever. They all held a very special place in our hearts and I learned to much from Puddin', as I'm sure everyone else has from theirs.
I have this feeling they're all in Tegu Heaven having a great laugh at how they "trained their humans"

What a beatiful Tegu and I'm so sorry for your loss. Hopefully, we will be able to find more information on what's causing the weird things that takes our Tegu's from us. I'm waiting to hear from my vet regarding the autopsy, and will post all of her findings.
My heart goes out to you and *hugs*......we all share the same feelings for our "exotic familY"

Our unproven female Blue died today. We had taken a few of the reptiles outside for some natural sun. It's about 80 degrees and very comfortable. She was walking in a shaded area and just stopped. Didn't have her mouth open or panting. the wife is very upset since she was watching her while I worked on the enclosures.

My gosh, that is so sudden and so sad. It's really kind of scary. Do I understand that she was not fully mature? Or was this a very old tegu? Are you considering an autopsy to learn why.
I am very sorry for your loss and my heart especially goes out to your wife; she should not take these things personally.
She was about 6 years old and looked like she was ready to breed this summer. We'll never know if she was able. She was only 26" long, not too much smaller in the body compared to our other female mostly her tail was shorter. I doubt she was feed well for her first few years of life. We'll probably bury her tomorrow.
I'm very, very sorry Dave. You have my sincere condolences. She was very beautiful as like all of your animals are.
Thanks. We're going to bury her today.
