male argentine b/w tegu
2 years old. ~3ft long. Around 5lbs. He's got all his toes and all of his tail. He recently lost a back toe nail in a towel, it may or may not grow back. 100% male.
Eating chicken, ground turkey, beef liver, chicken liver, asf rats, sm/med rats, tapalia, rockfish, tuna, scallops, berries, banana, the only thing hes ever refused was collard greens... Eating daily, calcium supplement given on every meal except whole prey. Multi-vitamin used 2-3 times a week. This guy is not fed inside the enclosure.
He does not get along with my other male tegus right now. He's going through a jowl-popping/mounting phase. He has never been around a female tegu.
Handled frequently, though he can be a little skittish at times. No aggression towards people. He's a work in progress, he will let you pet him but does not enjoy being held other than going from point A to B. I think he would be best for someone who has experience with tegus or other larger reptiles.
More info, videos, pictures, whatever available upon request. I will consider shipping, I have never shipped before so please be a little patient if he ends up being shipped. I cannot accept any animal trades at this time, if you are local I am willing to trade him for some rats or something.

I'm sorry you have to give up one of your tegus and hope he finds a good home.

Thanks! I'm hoping he can find a good home. I'm a little picky about where he goes lol. There were a few petstores locally that offered me money for him but I don't want him to go anywhere where hes going to be turned around and sold.
I'm not sure if anyone saw the thread/picture where he had the weird lip last week, he is fine. I haven't brought him to the vet, I think it was just a bite from a spider or bee sting or something. I will get him vet checked if it helps put your mind at ease and you are seriously interested.

Sorry I am not on the forum very often. I do still have him. Here are some updated pictures (from tonight). I am not too interested in trades for the time being but you can PM me and we can figure it out. I've changed my settings on here so hopefully I'll get e-mails to new replies. He seems to have been getting better with my other males, no more jowl popping but I'm still not sure how he would do with other males. He's gotten better about being around people, hes not as flighty anymore. I'd be more than happy to get a video of him being handled if it helps anyone make a decision. Thanks.

Awww. I'm so sorry to hear that you have to find him a new home :( . I believe the huffing and puffing and him trying to mount your other Tegus is because it's breeding season lol ;) . It will stop soon since hibernation season is just around the corner. My Tegus did that, too, and it stoped for the most part. I'm glad to see that you are being picky. Happy belated Birthday by the way. I'm sorry I missed it. Hope you had a good one. Good luck with finding him a good home.

I would consider it but I just don't have enough room. He sure is a handsome guy! Maybe try creg’s list? I know there are allot of tegu owners in Portland. Good luck!

Yeah I had him on CL, I got a ton of interested people but most of them didn't have an 8x4'+ enclosure. I ended up giving him to house of reptiles in Tigard (not sure how familiar you are with the area). He seemed to be doing really well! He and their 4yr old store tegu hit it off and were buddies in no time. I think they'll keep him as long as he behaves himself :P. If not, they have more resources to get him a safe/new home than I do. I'm happy with where he went, they seem to have great knowledge as far as tegus go.

I'm glad he found a good home :) I think House of Reptiles went to a reptile expo that I just went to a few weeks back. I'm not too familiar with the Tigard area but I have been up there.
