Sadly that is the way it works. It is part of the forum script.

Thank you HernandosMom and your welcome. I'm very happy about it, too.
That's sucks,.. it would help things run smoother if it could be changed. I think the response time may be the biggest issue people have with this forum now that new membership has been taken care of. I know I don't always check the thread if the side bar hasn't changed.
If you click "New Posts" on the top in the left corner, does it refresh faster?
Me, too. I have a fast computer and an impatient personality. If it takes longer to load than I would spend reading it...I'm usually gone!
I understand what Bubblz is saying. I check the sidebar for new posts and won't often revisit a thread if there does not seem to be new activity. Occasionally I've stumbled upon unanswered questions, etc and wondered if the newer member found their answer.
You know what would be really great if we could up the time your allowed to stay logged in because sometimes I'm writing a reply and I go to post it and bam its like ha go log in if you want to post sucka. Then i have to hope I didnt lose the info i just typed out and what have you. I think the community would enjoy a longer inactive time.
Clicking on What's New works but I'm not use to it. On some other forums I visit you have to log in to see what's new and I don't always log in unless there's something I'm going to respond to. The side bar is the most noticeable so that's what I check but now that I know I don't have to log in to see what's new I'm good,.. I'll take that :). I agree with the logged in time as well, if I'm typing a lengthy post I gotta remember to c&p so I don't lose it before logging in again.
I'm so sorry everyone for taking so long to make changes to the login timeout. Rick pmed me some infos and I still can't find the place where I can change it :( . Now I'm having more then just a blond moment lol.
