I have an accurate thermometer as well as an additional thermometer I double check on a weekly basis, the only thing is when he is out he spends the majority of his time on the hot side or under the...
Currently I have a cement slab on top of a box type hide, he tends to dig under in the cool side of the enclosure and comes out to bask, then runs around a bit and back to being dug under. He's...
He(achilles) actually doesn't respond to her at all and we get her to stop right away. But he acts like that whether or not she spots him first. She's not very crazy or loud about it.
He's just...
His basking daytime has been a consistent 110, night time typically doesn't get under 80. He's been like this since I got him I just use to pull him out to feed him and as he got bigger it seemed to...
So its been a bit quiet because Achilles sleeps all the time and comes out when my husband is home during the day. So taming went a little backwards but we are working on it. But here is an update...
You go to the grocery store and to get to your wallet in your purse you have to remove feeding tongs... (went to a friends to help her feed her ball python)

We actually had one fall, thankfully Achilles was dug under! We have a hook that is secured holding the light and then ended up reinforcing it by placing nails before the on/off block on the cord...
Wwooohooo my Dante has returned! My husband went to lay a rat down for her just in case and found her coming out from behind the fridge and trying to drink the dogs water...

That's pretty much how I do it, he doesn't like me actually grabbing him but once I have him and talk to him he calms down and usually crawls on me in the bathroom. Good luck!

One theory that was posted here about Columbians is that because they are cheaper they are more common and could have produced a larger rate of people stating they are more skittish. I haven't had...

I've read the 10 pages at one point, but just in case...
When you don't get any homework done because you spend the night looking up ways to redesign a cage, thermostats and heat emitters.. Ug.

Columbians don't need the same fruit need that Argentine need and often don't take it. If I sneak it into my Achilles' turkey he'll eat it but not if its separate. I didn't have good luck with...

I'm just now starting with ball pythons and my only really grumpy one is my corn snake and he usually just pretends to strike until I actually grab him and calms down. however have you looked at ball...

That's awesome that they get along so great. Coming from such different backgrounds i'm sure there is a lot to monitor with feeding and temperament. I responded to your other post as well, sometimes...
The idea is it allows for free roaming so he can be Comfortable with you on his terms. I grab Achilles quick and carry him to the bathroom,i have a small half bath on the floor with my animals with a...
I know it is largely said to feed outside the enclosure to avoid cage aggression and get some bonding time, is there a reason you are feeding in the enclosure? My Columbian stays buried all the time...
I'm not sure about the sexing, however have you thought of a Columbian, since they are smaller?

They need a normal light cycle so they don't get stressed, so 12.on 12 off, I go 13 on and that's basking and UV lights. Mine hides 80 % of the time but this keeps the heat right and allows basking...
