Those lizards get along due to crap temperatures and a severe lack of husbandry. Nothing more, nothing less. If properly heated and kept, it would be a different story I promise.

The vast majority of the tegus you see in captivity are obese.
Came in to LLLreptile as a yearling. Lady I got her from got her from there. She's 2-3 years old. Had a rough start but is healthy now.
I have had a male blue tegu for about a year and a month or two now. He's awesome and very gorgeous as most of you guys know. However, there was always one thing missing from his life hahaha. That...
Ground Turkey is not a good staple item for a tegu's diet. Preferably, feed whole prey(variety is key) and fruits/veggies. He's probably just hungry, as it doesn't sound like aggressive biting.
If they appear healthy I wouldn't worry about it. I used to be very pro-quarantine but I'd like to know of a disease in tegus that is easily transmittable and could be deadly.
Yes! The price on her was to good to resist haha. I will post pics when I receive her.
Yes, he has beads. Definite male. I'm pretty sure I finally found a female for him though so I am likely not selling him.
I am selling my 36" male blue tegu. He is from Ty Park stock and has great coloration. He does not have a fantastic attitude and is quite flighty. He's only bitten once and could be worked with but...
Quite frankly, the animals Johnny posts for sale look identical to the ones I see Rodney Irwin(tegusonly) post for sale. Same skinny, wild looking tegus. I would not be surprised if it were true.
I would be very, very wary buying from Johnny at TeguTerra. Please read this pertinent information. I recommend Ty Park(contactable on facebook), Wil Combs, or another breeder....
I thought this might be of interest to you seeing as you recently purchased animals that look like TegusOnly Florida WC Tegus....
Hate em. Mixing up genetic pools is never good IMHO.
Ty's amazing, a really good guy and very pleasant to talk to.
This is true! Do you have one, I know Tx is certainly warm enough haha.
I agree with SnakeCharmr's input on the subject. My tegus bask for short periods of time, then roam, eat, etc. then repeat. If they aren't doing that they are sleeping. If your tegu is basking for...
No problem! I would love to provide them with a bigger outdoor cage once I am living in a permanent location haha.
It's a pure wood bottom so there's no chance of escape! It's basically an 8x4x2 wooden box with an additional two feet high of screen around the top!
Here are some more pics of the lil guy! His jowels are starting to come in a little bit. These pics also include a couple of the logs and rock pile in his outdoor cage!
For sure. Blue was born in either August or September, don't remember!
Nice man! What's his DOB?
Yeah, how big is Godzilla?
He's probably about 33-34 inches, maybe one or two less or more(hard to measure him), but a lot of it is tail and he hasn't bulked up to much yet!
Haha yeah! He walks all around the screen, it's insane!
Here are some quick pics of blue today in the outside cage.
