Default Hello! Fairly new reptile owner!

Hi! :3 I plan to get a Tegu and in the Normal Discussion section I posted a huge thing about it.

    Here's a little about me:

My name is Britt, I'm 15 and I love to learn any oppertunity I can.

I always wanted a reptile to have under my care till 5. Finally came true 10 years later! (Now)

I own a gargoyle gecko who I love so much even if shes grumpy sometimes.

I study herpetology and want to become a hobbyist.

I have a dad who hates reptiles so getting new breeds is such a fiesty move! But I hope he will open his eyes to the beauty of taking care of an exotic animal.

Me in a nutshell, Im a reptile freak who loves to converse about it with other people who share the same interest as me!

Hi Britt. Welcome to our Tegu forum family . Why doesn't he like reptiles ? I just want to tell you a quick story ( at least I'll try to make it quick lol ) . A few years ago my boyfriend, son and I saw a adult Argentine Tegu at a show. My boyfriend ( Bryan ) wanted one so bad. I sad no because I didn't my son or I get bit by such a big reptile.Three years ago I ordered a black and white Argentine Tegu for Bryan ( Leonidas ). Leonidas was so cute and I fell in love with him right away. I got so hoocked on those Tegus that we have six of them now lol. But I do have to let you know they can cost a lot of money ( food, vet, enclosure, lighting .... ) . You also would have to have a lot of time to spend with him/her. We see a lot of people selling their Tegu because they don't have the time for it any more. Just something to think about . Good luck with school and your dad.
