    Zarnach, just so you know, this is my favorite Tegu video of all time! Whenever someone asks me about a Tegu's demeanor, or how tame they can be, etc. I link them straight to this video, I only hope my Kimo turns out this great!!!

    How long does it take for them to get close to that size? My little guy is about 12inch snout to tail.

    Depends on whether or not your Tegu brumates.
    Your Tegu is 12" snout to vent, or 12" snout to tip of tail?

    Tegu's that do not brumate can reach up to 36" long in their first year, usually they will reach their adult length within 2 years, although they tend to continue to "thicken up" as they age.
    Tegu's that do brumate, tend to take a little longer. For example, my Tegu is right about 8 months old and somewhere around 16.5" snout to tip of tail. Brumating Tegus can take up to 3 years or more to reach full size.
