I saw that...hated it! Basically, what I'm hearing is that despite the scientific information being presented against the USGS Burm map, the USFWS is basically looking for someone to back them up with a peer reviewed study to promote their skewed agenda. That's why I always take scientific studies with a grain of salt. It's like the saying about statistics...you can make them say anything you want. There are fantastic scientific studies out there, and then there are studies that are lean, are skewed, and only support the original scientist's presuppositions. pfffffft

When I read about the Burms in Florida, you were the first person I thought about. Lol

I watched the program "Python wars" on National geographic...and it showed these studies in the show. It looks to me that the media is trying to scare the public.

But what they don't tell you is that an unofficial report of approx 70% of the Burms in S FL were killed by the recent cold snaps from this year and last, numbers from hunts are down this year, the Burms kept in S Carolina as part of the US Geo study died even with human assistance, and scientists in Thailand refuted the US Geo projected climate change models that had the pythons spreading north to VA and all the way to CA. The Asian scientists said that the data collected from Asian climate reports were used incorrectly and were not applied correctly. It has truly become a political agenda with appeals to fear and emotion. I don't have a problem with anyone's political agenda on either side, but it should be based on logic and factual information. Then the populus and politicians can vote with an informed conscious. I may be old-fashioned, but that is kinda important to me.
