    Default Cage almost finished.

Welll the new cage for Mushu, my salvator water monitor, is almost finished, little things like caulking and what not. And i am going to build a basking spot above the pool. Anyhow i was wanting your guys opinion on whether i should put a heating pad on the bottom righthand side, or a ceramic heating bulb on the right side in the cut out on top... or both. and if you have any other ideas for me that i can throw in let me know.

that looks great i like the waterfall tub for the pool. (alway concidered using one of them)
IMO i would use a flood lamp or a ceramic w/ a florescent light on the right side. (i could just be the pic, but it looks a little dark on the right side)

    Thats one nice enclosure !

But dont put the spot to near the Water because of bacterias and alga affection.
I have had a pool in my Enclosure too and in spite off daily waterchange and cleaning there was always an affection because of the Spot.

6x2x2. i made it to where we just have to take out a few screws and we can add length to it, and height and depth if need be.

After tonight it will be. Just have to finish with basking spot and putting grit down. I have came to an idea similiar to STLHerps where I will have a 4x3 area of space for mushu to free roam, under supervision for a week or two to ensure that he cannot get out. The area will be surrounded by 3.5 foot tall plywood, an AstroTurf floor with numerous logs, driftwood etc. I will do my best to post pics of cage tonight when it is done.

Hey thanks man. It's pretty hard to sex salvators, well pretty much all monitors, when they are young. Tegusaurus is doing great he's out grown his 40 gal. Long tank and now moving him into a 4 footer. And for those of you who might be wondering th cage was around 250 for wood, foam, and tiles. Then about 50ish for stain, red oak 51, polyurathean, and silicone. Then 150 for sliding glass, not safety, and track. Took me the whole month of January to finish it, couple hours here and there and 6 days for stain and polyurathean to dry. I'll post some finished pics later.
