    Default Strange Lizard Appetites

I was eating a ceasar salad the other day and letting Dio smell it, when he ferociously took a huge bite of romaine and ran acoss the bed and wolfed it down. (dont worry, it was fancy organic local stuff that didnt have hardly any garlic in it. :|

He also has eaten day old pizza ripped into bite sized peices.

I dont particularly think feeding pets human foods is a good thing, or something that should be done often, but on occassion I dont see the harm.

What human foods have your tegu's or other herps eaten?

My mother was 'gu sitting for a month while my husband graduated from college, commissioned into the army and we got married all the same week. It was just a little much for us to have Remington there too. When I went to pick her up my mom was like, look! I've shown her a new trick and proceeded to let my tegu drink out of her coffee cup. And she wondered why Remi tried to escape all day long, she was loaded on caffeine, haha! Anyways, it's a family funny to this day.

Coming home from a library show last year, we went through a drive-thru for some lunch. The tegus had done such a good job with the crowd that we decided to share a chicken nugget and a bite of burger with them. Maybe a fry, too, I can't remember.

The first tegu that I met was owned by a reptile enthusiast from my old high school, every once in awhile after he graduated he would bring in his adult male tegu to school to show the teachers and students. He always told us stories about going thru Buger King or McDonnell’s and ordering his tegu a big burger and giving him the whole thing while the tegu sat in the passenger set lol.
