Default Would this be enough to fill a 55gallon?

HEY all, just wondering if a 13qt bag of cypress will be able to fill a standard 55gallon tank(48Lx13wx21h),or will that not be enough,if it is enough how long will that bag last?

It took 45-50qt's of mulch to attain 4" of substrate in my 48"x36" Tegu enclosure, so I would say no, you should buy at least a couple bags (I'm assuming you aren't meaning to "fill" the 55gal, but provide the necessary amount of substrate).

To get how much substrate to get measured in cubic feet is to go Length x width x depth (if it's in inches and you want cubic feet, divide 1728 because that's how many cubic inches are in a cubic foot) of the area you want to fill, I think. So, for example, if you wanted 4 inches of substrate, you would multiply 48" x 13" x 4" then divide and would get 1.4. But if you wanted say, 12 inches of substrate you could do it in just feet (because 13" is close enough to a foot that it won't affect it too much) you would do 2 x 1 x 1 so it would be 2 cubic feet, somehow. So, yeah. 3 cubic feet should be good for between 1 and 2 complete changes.

Yes same price here. From what I have heard, Cypress is more expensive out west. And Cypress is not grown commercial for mulch...hence a higher price
