    feeding dog food is not a very good staple for a good diet.. im sure there are many to agree with that! but SAm is a very adorable tegu

    I agree that dog food is not good for the lizards. Dog food is made for dogs not lizards or it would be called lizard food. But Sam is a vary cute lizard i have a Gold Tegu to.=]

    yeah its kinda good to stay away from that stuff. To be honest i would stay away from most "lizard food" as well. like canned "monitor chow".

    Hi nmiller. Welcome to our Tegu forum family and congrats on your new Tegu ( Sam ) . He/she is very cute. I like that name ( that's my name, too ). I would be careful with feeding the caned dog food because it is very high in fat. Here is a care sheet for Tegus ( it's the same for Argentines and Columians ). The only thing is that most Columbians don't like to eat fruits and veggies ( some do ).
