Thread: Hello from Ontario!

    Default Hello from Ontario!

I'm Shannon from Canadia-land. I do not own any tegus yet but have been researching them thoroughly for the past 3 years. I'm no stranger to reptiles though. I've been keeping mostly snakes and some lizards for about 5 years now.

I'm currently in college for Animal Care/Vet Assistant and have taken deep interest in domestic/exotic animal nutrition. Especially fresh, natural, holistic diets.

I also care for ferrets, dogs, and cats.

Here are some photos of myself and my animals.

    Hi Shannon,
I am also from Ontario! I am up neat Barrie. Tegus are pretty tricky to get if you wait until off season. Your best bet will be the June reptile expo as any later they will be gone and you won't find them at the March show unless they never sold last season. 90% chance of getting a captive born but not bred unless you can find a basement breeder somewhere but they are hard to come by. You can sometimes find them on www.kijiji.ca or http://www.reptilescanada.com/forums/.

Also, wanted to say that you have some beautiful animals!!

Yeah, I know they're a pain to come by here but I don't need to worry about that until I'm finished school. lol

Thanks for the info though. I frequent both Kijiji and ReptilesCanada just to hurt myself when I see a tegu up for adoption and know I cannot have it.

Welcome, I am new here as well. I love that crested, a friend of mine has one and they are just amazing creatures. Also dig the boa, the coloration is nice.
