Lightbulb What is your favorite/recommended MVB?

So I've read all the threads here and clicked all the links, but I'd really like to know what MVB's YOU are using as of today. I'm in the market for a couple and I want the best with the least worries/issues. Thanks ahead of time for all your input!

I am using ZooMed's PowerSun. They had issues years ago with low output but have resolved the issue and now have a good product. All of the other popular MVB's on the market today (MegaRay, SolarGlo, Zilla) are currently experiencing issues with low output or output in the low wavelength range and are trying to sort out their issues. This based on data from the independent testers at uvguide.uk

I agree with everything Laura stated, and I also use the ZooMed PowerSuns.

I'm personally not much of a fan of any of them. This is not to say I don't recommend using them or that they will cause problems, I just have an IMMENSE issue with how expensive they are and the fact that no matter what brand I go with, they all generally crap out on me within a couple of months.

We always used the ZooMed Powersun ( heat/UVA/UVB ) for years now on all five of our Tegus. We never had any problems with them. One time I was a bit low on money and I got one SunGlo bulb and the Tegu started to get sick. I switched back over to the buld we always used and he got better within a few days. I'll never change the lighting again.

They are really getting expensive. It seems like just last year I could get a PowerSun for $35, but now they are $48. With my power bill going up, too, I'm thinking of looking into outdoor enclosures, or at least more basking enclosures.

Well, it's cheaper on the electric than Incandescent, but it doesn't put out any UVB like MVB does.

Yeah, a halogen will provide great heat, just no UVB. And they *are* cheaper than the "reptile" heat-only bulbs.
