Very nice. I saw a few black tree monitors at a show recently and nearly bought a pair...but they were all males. :/

Congrats on your new monitor . I love the colors on him. I wanted to get a blue one for a long time now. But since I got all those Tegus I let my boyfriend get the black throat monitor. Do you have a name for him yet ?

    I named him Sheldon. Bazinga!

I think the macraei is my favorite of the prasinus-group too but they are so expensive. I payed 730 EUR (about 1050 USD) for this fella and I'm not willing to pay a lot more for a slightly nicer colour. :P

I love the thing they make with their tail.

I know they cost allot of money this is why I never got one. I love it, too, whey they curl up their tail like that . Those are some great pictures .

My local pet shop has 3 blues, a "breeding pair" plus one extra male. Apparently blues are quite difficult to breed in captivity and these ones keep producing dud eggs. I wanted tree monitors but I'd prefer something I can handle more, hence why I fell in love with Tegus.
