So The Boyfriend is now The Fiance...

We had kind of a housewarming BBQ on Sat, with a great turn-out. Right in the middle of it, he yells out my name, and when I turn around, there he is, down on one knee. Poor man had a helluva time getting the ring on my finger because I kept jumping up and down. When he asked The Question, I (quite literally) yelled out "F$*@ YEAH!!", much to the amusement of our friends. It was perfect.

So it's been a while since I posted any pics here, and I'm not quite sure I remember how to do it, so hopefully this works...

I don't know how he did it, but he found me the perfect ring without consulting me one bit. He did months of research apparently before settling on this one to get commissioned. The center stone is Iolite, also known as "Viking's Compass". Because of it's unique polarizing properties, the Vikings used thin sheets of it during sea voyages to chart the path of the sun on cloudy days. He chose it because my heritage is primarily Norwegian, and I'm quite proud to be a veritable Viking throwback. The side stones are Green Tourmaline, which appeals to the rock hippie in me, because of it's ability to stimulate creativity, and increase a joy for Life. I love the fact that it's not a traditional engagement ring, and I simply can't stop staring at it...

... I've been having one giant Pretty Princess moment for the past four days.
