    Insufficient hydration can also be an underlying reason.

    I had that issue with my box turtle. She had irritated eyes from low humidity even though she would soak. Increased humidity and eye issues resolved completely.

    HI everyone, thanks for your thoughts and help. Nothing came out of the vet appointment, he is in tip-top shpae. His blood work came back with all parameters in normal levels, and no sign of infection. When they sleep, they sleep hard. He has been active and his playfull self again. I warmed up his cold side by 5 degrees, otherwise no changes.
