Lol. You crack me up ( about the Tegu God's ) . That is so cute. We love you, too, buddy and your welcome. That's what we are here for.

    1. Please remove the red buld.

    2. I would get a timer for the lights to come on when the sun comes up and have it turned of when the sun goes down.

    3. Laura is right about the bare bulb ( about him may be jumbping up and getting hurt/burned ).

    4. I would recommend getting a buld like the one in the link below and put it by the basking area.

    5. Other then that everything else loogs good. It looks very cozy in there with the heat on and the steam .

k well here is my scenario lemme know what you think i should do

I do have the mercury vapor bulb listed. the thing is i have a 60 watt socket in the enclosure. I notice it needs to be a 100 watt socket to use the mv bulb. the enclosure retains heat/humidity very well due to it being plastic. I am very iffy on cutting a hole in the top and putting mesh since it is plastic ..

so here is what i have done... the 50watt uva bulb for basking (115-120 degrees) with 2 zilla 18" floresscent uvb bulbs which the temps are perfect inside cage and tegu does not to seem to have any complaints. . I would really love to use the mv bulb but i really cant think of a way to get it in there safely.

I do have the basking bulb on a timer
Question: should I just put them all on the timer for 12 hours and completely turn off at night?

I am gonna def get a cage for the light i actually am thinking of a way i can cover the light safely as we speak..
I will post some more pics when i have that setup.
    Thanks all!

Ps- red bulb i dont use.. just extra stuff. Oh btw here are some pics of my sons leopard gecko we got today! lol he named him venom.

Awww. He is so cute and so tiny . Yes, you can have the lights come on for 12 hours and have them off at night. Most Tegus dig into the mulch to sleep anyway. Don't worry it will not get to cold in the enclosure if you have it inside the house.
