i dont have any blue prints...well maybe in a note book. but just look through the all the enclosure threads. thats wat i did.....take a lil idea from this cage, from that cage...draw it out and get to building. u dont even have to look at just tegu cages for ideas....i mean i used a car back door weather strip seal around one of the doors on my cage to get a good seal, keep mulch from coming out of cage. people have used doggy doors and stuff. think out side the box.

ps make sure u install plenty of locks, these lizards are stong, smart and will find a way out.

I use Drylok to seal it's really good and available from every hardware store that i've ever checked. Feed troughs are really good for enclosures and most big time Monitor breeders use them. If you really want to build your own box why not use Melamine? Or you could use 2x2s and plywood if you want it lighter.

Hope this info helps. Good luck. I also recommend using two ( one on each side of the back wall ) vent covers that you can open and close.

Hi Gnatilie. I'm sorry but I'm a bit lost. What do you mean about feed troughs ? Do you mean like a caresheet on what to feed the Tegu ?

They are really big plastic or galvanized steel tubs. I would be concerned about keeping the humidity high enough for a tegu. Most tubs are kept with an open or mesh lid.

Thank you Laura. Now I know what it is. I remember seeing them at outside pet boarding places. They were filled with water so when it gets to hot outside the big dogs can climb in there to cool of. I wouldn't use those as a enclosure. The metal can get very hot in the summer. I would be worried about the reptile getting burnt on that hot metal.
