    Default New Peacock Monitor

Just wanted to show of my newbie, hubby got me a juvenile Peacock Monitor
(Varanus auffenbergi) for my birthday thats this weekend...They are very similar to Timor monitors... Shes beautiful, her body is blue, red head, yellow arms/legs. Known for being incredibly shy species but shes very bold and doesn't even flinch when I walk past her or even mist her cage. She also took some pinkies off tongs from me and has happily chasing down crickets/roaches in the first day home! Super healthy looking for being a WC from Indo! Shes in a very tall setup with about 8inches of dirt/sand substrate to burrow in,cork bark hides, hot (150 basking spot!) humid and seems very happy
Shes very interested to watch, however they are not very tolerate of handling as it really stresses them out... First time owning a species like this, MUCH different than what Im used to (Tegus!)
