    Default New Tegu Owner

    Hello,

My brother and myself just purchased a Columbian Black and White Tegu.
Just wanted to know if there were available caresheets for them.
Any information would be helpful, and appreciated.

Information I've gather are from different generic reptile sites.

I have reptile experience with Chameleons.

    Here is a pic:

    Thank you

The care sheets for Argentines are still applicable. I have a Columbian a well, they don't need and don't typically care for fruit,.and they won't hibernate. The rumor is they are more skittish but it just takes time and patience. I'm sure there is more to add, thankfully there are some awesome people to pick up my slack.. Congrats! uploadfromtaptalk1350149746380.jpg here a pic of my Achilles..

    He looks good.
    Thanks for the help.

Can you give me a link to a caresheet which you would use?

    Thanks

    One more question:

As far as lighting. Do they stay on all day, or is it on some sort of rotation such as 12 on and 12 off?

    Thanks

They need a normal light cycle so they don't get stressed, so 12.on 12 off, I go 13 on and that's basking and UV lights. Mine hides 80 % of the time but this keeps the heat right and allows basking time whenever he comes out. I don't have a night heat source because it doesn't drop below 75 in my house.
