    Default Breeding question...Blues

At what size/age can blue tegus successfully breed? Has anyone here bred their tegus without hibernation?

Welcome back. Long time no see. I heared before that they don't have to hibernate but it would be better if they did. You can pm chriswizz and ask him the question in case he doesn't respond to your Post. His female had two clutches this year. I don't know if they hibernated or not. You also can pm DaveDragon. He used to breed blue Tegus but had to sell them all.

its true blue tegus dont need to hibernate to reproduce my female & male didnt, if not hibernated i would say there ready by 2 years of age, if you go down the hibernation rout then i would say 3years of age. still give them seasonal temp flux though & reduce there lighting during the winter, i think this just helps a little with there internal timers.

Black and whites, Reds and Blues have all been successfully bred without hibernating.
