Can you get a special diet from your vet? There is Oxbow's Carnivore Critical Care and I just recently had to feed Emeraid Carnivore to a pet who needed a nutritional boost. It is smooth, easy to syringe feed, highly digestible, and nutritionally balanced. A bit expensive....but I was already putting so much into the vet bill at that point....another story....

Hi. Just been to a specialist vet and spent an hour and a half in the cobsulting roon while bo was given 3 injections, one for pain, vitamin b1 and calcium. Also been given neckton rep and nekton msa, one is calcium and the other a supplement. Electrolytes for him to bathe in and a critical food mix that I have to force feed. I have been offered xrays but the vet feels the cost outweighs the benefits. Hoping he improves although I dont feel to optimistic :(

Never give up. Like the saying goes " it's not over until it's over ". You also can use pedialyte ( you can find this in the baby section at your store ). This has electrolytes in it, too. When a Tegu's enclosure is inside the house like yours is then they don't need any night time heat. But since yours is sick what you can do if you want to is get a ceramic heat emitter ( not the one with the infrared ). It's like the one in the link below. This one would be for a big enclosure.

Do you have to force feed Bo ? Just keep doing what you are doing. You are doing a good job. Here is a video on how to force feed a Tegu in case you need it. Thank you for keeping us posted.

Oops. I forgot to mention this. I'm glad that you found a good Vet, too.

Been force feeding him a critical care diet for two days and bathing him in elecrolyte solution. Hes doing ok but im not sure when I might see an improvement. He is still very lethargic but doesnt seem to be getting worse so im keeping everything crossed

Diagnosis of mbd or kidney failure but no bloods or xrays taken as treatment would be the same

Thank you for the update. I hope things will turn out for the best. Just keep doing what you are doing. He is very lucky to have you. I'm so glad you went to a different Vet. It really upsets me that you didn't at least get some money back from your other Vet.
