    Default New to the Gu

Hey, im new to this site, My name is nick. I am currently a college student, and my roommates and I have a Argentine B&W on the way set to arrive Weds. Already have a huge set up for him (basically took the doors off my closet and made that his home) We are very excited for him to arrive, but I know that none of us having any prior experience with lizards (a lot of pet snakes tho) we would need some help with questions. THANKS!

there is sooo much info on this site. read through some of the older posts and see what other things and questions people have posted (I personally have written out several care sheets for people on here)...if you have anything specific to ask then go for it. Congrats on the tegu and welcome to the site

Hi Nick. Welcome to our Tegu forum family and congrats on your all's new Tegu. They are great pets . Here is some basic information for you to read ( in the link below ). Please feel free to ask us as much as you like. Are you planing on bulk ordering some feeder rodents by any chance ? If you do I highly recommend Rodentpro.com ( I'll post a video of the order I got from them in the second link ). You are also more then welcome to check out my videos on youtube ( on how to get a Tegu out of the enclosure or my shirt trick ).

I appreciate the help, he arrived earlier this morning, it was a bit colder so i ran him a warm bath, gave him some food (ground turkey) and put him in his enclosure. He seemed a little bit squirmy with me but wasn't at all aggressive. I put him in his cage and he basically just buried down and has been there all day. I'm assuming he is just tired from the trip down, but he ate really well and wasn't aggressive which were the two things i was most worried about.

Your welcome. Any time. I'm glad to hear that he had a safe trip and that he ate well. Allot of Tegus are so stressed out they don't want to eat on the first day home. Some don't want to eat up to a week. Sounds like he is doing great. Thank you for the update.
