Well the log did have some white fuzzy mold. So I've been battling that. Also trying not to handle my Tegu too much but it was out and I couldn't resist. So gave it a bath. Also installing a ventilation fan to blow air into the enclosure and to cool down the top of the UVB bulb when it gets here. Also for fresh air and to keep moisture off of the glass. I am going to have the fan come on when the lights turn on. Got my roaches! Don't have any adults yet, only feeding the small ones to the Anole. Today fed the Tegu some grape and banana. The Tegu's poop was a mushy consistency for awhile but now it is back to normal. I think I was mixing in too much Cod Liver Oil into its food. I didn't add any today or yesterday. It seems to be getting bigger every week!, and coming out more often.

Received my UVB bulb but the filament was broken, so returning it on Monday. Also received my LED's. They are BRIGHT!!! Now I need to figure out how to mount them. Also I am lining the ceiling with 3/4" THERMAX foil faced insulation. To help hold heat in and I might aim the LED's up as they are very bright when looked at directly.

Video of me trying to catch the tegu to take it out. I let it bite me, took it out for a bath, then stuck it back in and it sat on the rock for a bit and went back to its burrow.

He is so cute . When I saw him getting a bath it looked like he was thinking " spa time " lol. I don't want to tell you what to do. But I recommend grinding up the shell. You could mix it in with the ground meat. The edges of the shell is very sharp. It's also easier for them to digest it when it's grinded up. Thank you for posting the Video and the photos.

I only left the shell because the egg was runny in the middle. I didn't feed the shell to it. I also think grinding the egg shell down is a good idea, and I put it in the meat mix that it gets fed most of the time. tilapia, turkey, chicken livers.
