They are only worth as much as someone is willing to pay.

Technically they are species and hybrids, not morphs.

Blue is a morph, purple tiger is a bluexred hybrid, and extreme giant is a clever name. I think in this instance, the word morph is used in the general hobby manner and not in the academic scientific classification sense.

Actually, Laura, I think you're giving more meaning to the word morph than what even academic scientific classification does. A morph is just a distinct type, a form with discernible features to differentiate it from other types. To put it into perspective, I'll use it in conjunction with humans. Caucasians are a morph, as are blacks, and Amerindians would be morphs as well. Blue-eyed blondes would be a morph, blue-eyed Asians would be another morph. Blacks with tightly curled hair would be a morph, while blacks with straight hair would be a morph. People with perfect eye-sight would be one morph while those with near-sightedness would be another morph. Morph is a very general term. Hybrid is almost as bad. To me, I'd say the blue and the extreme giant are just clever names for marketing ploys because no one can say with any clarity the features that make one or invalidate one, it's extremely subjective. I just recently asked here on the forum from people who produce blues what makes a blue a blue, and the best answer so far is the amount of white on the head. Tell me that isn't arbitrary.

I've never heard of a morph to be explained that way, tupinambis. That's such an excellent and clever way to explain that!
