    Default 8x3.5x2.5 Cage Pics

Hey everyone! I just thought I'd post some pictures of my 8x3.5x2.5 foot cage that I recently made to house my adult male black and white. I made it out of 3/4 inch Oak, sealed the inside with Polyurethane and used cluster lighting for heat and put in a 36 inch bulb holder for a UVB bulb. The three heating fixtures will be filled by 50 watt outdoor halogen flood bulbs. There's a 14 inch substrate barrier so I can provide deep substrate for him. Feel free to ask any questions you may have! 390976_4120661914256_1047768245_n.jpg395731_4120662674275_2015998640_n.jpg923136_4120662154262_213323565_n.jpg

I love the look of the wood. Do you have a vent in there ? How are you going to be able to clean it with just one door there ? Did you use a sealant for the wood so the wood doesn't rot when you keep a high humidity in there ?
Rich is not how much you have, or where you are going, or what you are.Rich is who you have beside you.

No, no vents. Ever since starting to read up on monitor forums I've realized that all vents do is allow humidity to escape and help the substrate dry out. And there are 2 doors but the area it's being stored in til I set it up for my big guy is small enough that I couldn't get a whole picture haha. I used polyurethane to seal it inside so the wood won't rot, which is what one of my good friends with a lot of cage building experience uses.
