Default in search for a second tegu

hello my fellow tegu buddies! im in search for a friend for my Jazz (B&W ARG). since she is now in her new enclosure (7x3.5x4), i have her 40 gal breeder open and im realy interested in purchasing a female extreme, or blue tegu! my jazz is 27" long and roughly 6-7 months old. if my new tegu is 2 small to keep together with jazz, i will have the new gu stay in my 40 gal breeder. i will introduce them slowly and have them get aquainted with each other before just leaving them alone lol. does anyone have anything to say in this matter? having a B&W arg and a blue or extreme together? both females (not looking to breed yet)? anyone know where i can purchase a blue? an extreme?

sorry for all the newbish questions lol. any and all input is great! thank you in advanced

Please don't ever be sorry or worried about asking a lot of questions. This is what we are here for. If you don't mind me asking. Do you have enough room to have another big enclosure in case they don't get along with each other ? I don't know if you could keep them together. Some get along and some don't. I have all of mine in a different enclosure. Here are some breeders you could check out.

I know this Ad is from last year. But you can call him and ask him is he is going to have some blue hatchlings again this year. He is a very nice guy. His name is Javier. I got my two blue/red hybrids from him. He just bred the hybrids one time. So all he is breeding now are 100 % blues.

ok, i sent out a few emails asking about the availability on blue, and extreme tegu's email's sent to:

    -underground reptiles

-bobby hill (varnyard).... thanks to this forum, if an email is sent back to me, i will not be responding to this guy.....if he even responds. (didnt realize i was sending him an email untill after i sent it and i saw "bobby hill". i then searched the forum because that name sounded familiar....thanks all

thats great! thanks for letting me know. much appreciated! his tegu's look fabulous on his site......but so did bobby's lol. after i heard all these negative things about bobby, its got me on edge about ordering online and trusting breeders :(. i got my B&W argy from a pet store so there was no shipping/trusting needed for the sale. i saw the tegu, held the tegu, analysed the tegu, and then purchased. they told me the feeding schedule they had her on and she looked great so that was enough to fold me over to buying with the trust i needed. im actualy nervous about purchasing my next gu because what i want, i've NEVER seen at a pet store or even in person for that matter..... so that means i HAVE to buy online

Your welcome and thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you did your research about Bobby. I don't I'm sure he will not respond to your email because he took off and doesn't have any Tegus ( that we know of ). Good luck with finding the Tegu you want.

i have sat down and spoken with my girlfriend and came to the conclusion that we will not be getting a second gu at this time :(. we think our Jazz has been by herself for to long and honestly if the new gu and her dont get along, i realy dont want to make another big enclosure like jazz's new home and the price for a blue or extreme is alittle steep to bargain with. i also dont want to get attached and have to sell or give away to a good home so i will just stay away from a new gu......for now lol.

on a good note, we agreed on making my 40gal breeder tank into a home again . a juvinile bearded dragon AND a juvi uromastyx will be living in there shortly. all supplies are in the mail as we speak to make the tank a good home and so i can make sure it stay at temp and humidity is low before purchasing our new friends.

PS: they wont both be in the 40gal forever. i plan on purchasing a 75 gal or an already built enclosure for them later. they should get along great seeing how they would be around the same size and both would be introduced to there new home at the same time! that way there is no territory issues...

I would not house them together. I don't know anything about uromastyx but I do know beardies do not like roommates they are very solitary animals. I do know that their basking temps are also not the same.
