My tegu is know 30 inches, and 20 months. I give him mice, pinkies. chicken hearts, chicken liver, chicken mince.. He dont want dubias/roaches anymore I dont know why! And he's not much for fish either! He like some fruits and eat it sometimes. Can anyone give me some tips of food that is easy to find? What do you give your tegus? Have a nice day

I don't know how big your tegu is, but he may be growing out of the desire to eat small insects.

Mine like nightcrawlers, shrimp, squid, rodents, chicks, chicken, beef, turkey, fish, chicken necks, a bit of egg, papaya, mango, melons, berries, peaches, cherries...just about anything. Some prefer different foods, but I try anything.

At almost three feet long it's definitely too big and more than likely will show very little interest in small insects.

Something to help and yes you can get some of it from grocery stores or order online. In no way are these items the only things they can eat, they can eat, actually like and people offer much more to add variety to their diet.

I also feed our Tegus some lean ground beef, thin pork chops, chicken liver, chicken hearts/gizzards. You can get a the fish medley in the freezer section at your store. If the pieces are to big just cut them up a bit then put them in warm tap water to thaw out. Our Tegus love Mangoes.

What are your basking temps ? I would cut the grapes up before you give it to your Tegu. I wouldn't worry about it. This can happen if the basking temps are to low or a Tegu didn't bask long enough for the metabolism to be able to digest the food well enough. If you feed some rodents you might see some fur in the stool from time to time.
