Default Columbian Tegu has a Bump

Hello guys, i just got my Columbian Tegu about 2 and a half weeks ago. he is onto shedding his tail and then he is finished his first shed. But ever since he shed his neck area there has been a large bump on it. It does not hurt and he does not get irritated when i touch it. but i am wondering what i should do about this ! here is a photo attached of the bump. It almost looks/feels like a calus of skin. http://imgur.com/1uOPNKV

    ANY hep would be appreciated.

That looks like it could possibly be a pustule of some sort, indicating a possibility of something being embedded beneath the skin. Possibly some sort of parasite. It may not be all that harmful, but you might want a qualified veterinarian to look at it.

Thanks Tupinambis, i am going to leave it a few more days, it looks like this morning its just a problem shedding that he cleared overnight. Will monitor it for a few more days and if it gets worse i will take him in.

Hi Jake. It looks like a spot that our Leonidas used to have. When we took Leonidas to the Vet he got a shot and after that he had some shedding problems on that area. Maybe Rico damaged some scales on that area that causes the shedding problems now. When he was shedding did you by any chance pull on the shed to get it off ?

I'm glad to hear that you didn't pull on it. Try to give him a bath every day or every other day to soften the skin. Maybe this will help to come off. How does it look now ?
