Default Enclosure build with snake cage on top

Going to Home Depot soon to get supplies for my enclosure build. It's going to have a lower section that 8x4 with an upper section that's 8x2, that'll be for my red tail boa. I'm going to have to do all the cutting, painting and staining while it's in pieces and assemble it in the room because it won't fit through the door constructed. Here is my list of materials, lemme know if I'm forgetting anything:

    plywood
    2x4's
    plexi glass
    vents
    hinges
    handles
    stain
    ceramic light fixtures
    fluorescent light fixtures
    wheels
    screws
    caulk
    sealer
    paint

I think that covers it lol I'll post pics as it's comin along!

I would recommend one of these bulbs for UVB http://www.reptileuv.com/megaray-sb-...d-uvb-lamp.php

The best there is in proper UVB output.

I've read a lot about Arcadia bulbs but never found them for sale in the U.S.

I ordered the Powersun by zoo med off amazon so I'll see how that goes.

I have all my pieces of plywood cut and put the first coat of seal on the pieces that will be in the cage. They prolly need a second coat but my basement is way to crowded to let them all dry properly at the same time. Plus I was ready for bed after a long day then priming til midnight to finish it off :P I have some pics I'll put up soon.

Does anyone have suggestions about doors? I bought plexi-glass that claims it won't fog or scratch up to 10 years or something like that but I'm not sure how to go about putting them on. I am thinking about cutting out the plywood and using some of it to make a frame for the plexi glass and then put it on the hinges. Is there a better way to do this or does this sound like it will work? I'll put some pics up later of what I'm talking about, kinda at work so I can't do it now lol

Here are some videos for you to check out if you like on how to build it. They can cut the wood for you at home depot.

    Part 1.

    Part 2.

Rich is not how much you have, or where you are going, or what you are.Rich is who you have beside you.

I prefer fluorescent tubes myself and CHE set on a thermostat for a basking spot. Its easier for me to control temps that way where as a MVB is either in or off and you can't easily control the temp without changing the location of the bulb. And if the temp changes in the room you have the enclosure the temp will remain constant in the enclosure because of the thermostat.
