Hello tegu enthusiasts. I am a new member. Also a proud new owner of a 2 1/2 week old Argentine red tegu (Nova). I just received him/her this past Wednesday. Ive been feeding Nova every morning about an hour or so after he gets up and basks. I work second shift so this is the only time i have with him for the day, because he is asleep when i get home. As of right now he has only fed on dubia roaches and super worms dusted with calcium. But i have also offered Nova Natural Choice cat food i/e ground turkey flavor. He does not seem to care for it. Only interested in live prey items. Was just wondering if this is normal for a baby gu. I welcome any advice i can get.
    Thanks to all- Desz0000

Yes this is normal for a baby tegu. Some thing that worked for mine was beef hearts, or you could do beef liver. It is like $1 to $2 per pound at the grocery store.
