Absolutely there is obesity in reptiles and amphibians. It is generally found in captivity.

The vast majority of the tegus you see in captivity are obese.
thanks so very much for answers.
I was comparing my iguana to a zoo here in sweden. They have several iguanas and all had big bellys, mine dont have that.
Then i asked how much they moved around during the days. I was told they were very inactive now, almost hybernating.
Iguanas dont hybernate? i have never heard that(i didnt say this to them). Anyway, my iguana at my home walks around so much(so much im almost going crazy on him).
This started when hes mating season turned on.
(sorry to talk about iguana in a tegu forum)
Do there exist more pages about obesity in reptiles, snakes frogs? Was very interesting to read, thanks once again.
You are very welcome. It's OK. We don't mind if you or others talk about a different animal . To be honest with you I don't know anything about Iguanas. If you go online and type in reptile or exotic obesity you should find more articles on this. It's good to hear that your Iguana gets this much exercise.
