Default Argentine black and white tegus at reptile shows?

Hello, I'm looking to get a Argentine black and white tegu this month and don't trust shipping a reptile in 30 degree weather. So I'm going to a reptile show this month, nothing special just a small scale show. So I was wondering are Argentines frequently found at reptile shows? If so what will be the general price, I'm pretty sure it won't be " retail " but I just want to make sure. Thanks.

Hi Chris. If it's a regular black and white Argentine they can range from $125 to $199. If it's a cheap one please make sure that it's not a Columbian Tegu if you are set on a Argentine one. If you are going to find a Argentine one you are going to very lucky. Because a lot of the Argentines are in hibernation right now. Please let us know if you need any information on how to check if it's a healthy Tegu. Good luck with finding the Tegu you want. Oh, one more thing. If you would buy a Tegu from a good breeder they know how to ship them the right way. They will use some heat pad to keep them warm.

Oh bummer, about the hibernation. You really think a reptile show won't have any?

You never know. You might find some. I still would go and check it out. Not all of them hibernate.

Ok, I won't give up hope yet then. If I can't find one at the show ill probably order one, after reading more about winter shipping so I'm a bit more comfortable, so do you guys know any reputable sites with them in stock now? By the way, thanks for all your help.

If not the reptile show you can check your local classifieds, as well as kingsnake and fauna classifieds there are always people looking to rehome tegus of different sizes and ages.

So I was looking on the classifieds and found a company selling a argentine red and a black and white. The black and white says it is c.h. I don't what it means. Then the red doesn't say anything regarding if its cb or wc. Does anyone know what ch means?
