Default New tegu, not doing good.

Hello. Got my 3 months old red tegu for 11 days now. She is burried all the time and never comes out, and I know that it is normal. But since hibernation season is soon over, shouldn´t I feed her? And I want her to get tame so Im not going to feed inside the enclosure, wich means I gotta wake her up and take her out. Is that Ok? Gimme your opinions!

    Thanks in advance

Hi progrmor. What are the basking temps ? You might want to higher them a bit. I'm glad that you want to feed her outside of the enclosures.

That's normal. If you don't want to scare her by just grabbing her you can put your hand in there and leave it in one spot for a while. When she sees that you are not a threat she will get used to your hand and sooner or later get closer and closer.

If the tegu is 3 months old now, it was born around Jan, making it an import. That means it is oriented to the southern hemisphere and may very well be hibernating.
