    Default Varnyard's colored/fancy mice

Everyone has been asking about the mice I raise, so I added some pictures of them. These are fancy mice. some of the colors are now being bred be me. Note the blue fancy mice. Also note that the whole colony takes care of all of the babys. Click on the pictures to make them larger.

LOL, yea. I feed a mixture of cornfakes, dry dog food (that does not contain red #40 dye) and Nut's and Seeds premium bird food. I found this mix to work great.

Nice, but one quick question. Why did you mention that the dog food does not contain #40 red dye? Is that bad for certain animals? (Tegus?)

Yes, there has been cases of red dye # 40 being toxic in reptiles. I have heard this a few times, and I am not willing to take the chance feeding them to my tegus if they have this in their stomach contents.

Well, thanks for clearing that up for me, I never paid attention to that, but now that I think of it, I don't think I've ever fed anything with it to my mice, I guess I just got lucky, I'll keep that in mind from now on.
