You'll have to wait another 2 months for that!! I drilled 2 holes in the top of the frame to screw it to the enclosure above it.

    I've already got 1 request!!

It's cost about $300 in parts (not including paint an 13 feet of mylar background) and many hours of labor. I'm sure I'll get faster as I build the next 2. Shipping would be a killer! I just weighed one side while the other side was shimmed up to the same height. It's about 160 pounds empty.

Unfortunately January starts Pinewood Derby season. The garage will be setup for workshops I hold for Cub Scouts who don't have the tools or knowhow to make a competitive car. My boys have been #1 & #2 the last 2 years. We usually get some good competition with at least 2 other cars. I can smell the pine already!!!!

    Added Panels and mylar background.

Last night I primed all outside panels. Final coats of paint the next 2 nights. Trim will be done when I have time. The next enclosure will be started this week also.

My wife is concerned it will be too dark inside. Tonight I'd like to put in 5 to 6 bags of mulch and the 4ft Reptisun 10, extended daylight (??) tube and 100W bulb. Then we will have a real good idea of what it'll look like inside. "Maybe" I'll add a lexan panel to replace the upper front panel to allow more ambient light to get in and more visibility to see the Tegu. Maybe we can get "Big Red" out of the dog crate he's been living in for the last 2 months (and 3 weeks since we rescued him).

Thanks!! It'll look better tonight after a coat of paint. Even better after I add the trim. All screws will be covered.

There's a panel in the back with only a few screws to access the lights.

I put 1 coat of paint on and the 48" Reptisun 10 & 90W halogen bulb in (on top of the 1/2" hardware cloth). Lighting looks good to me. The wife is still concerned we won't be able to see him without getting on the floor. The enclosure on top will have the door 4.5 feet off of the ground. Also added 8" of cypress mulch. I'll probably add another bag after it settles. Less bags going in means less bags coming out. What do people do with 10 to 20 bags of used stinky mulch every month?? I could cart it out into the woods but that might attract the wrong kind of animal. Also it would be hard to do when there's snow on the ground.

Remember all of the screws will be covered with trim.

All that's left to do is a final coat of paint, staple the 1/2" black vinyl coated hardware cloth to the doors, attach the doors, and buy & attach the hook and eye to hold the doors open. And, of course; cut, paint & attach the trim pieces when I have time.
