I've had quite a few ferrets and I'm in California. They are great pets, a little smelly but lots of fun. They don't live long however. Bubbategu2

My ex, had 6 ferrets! They are full of personnality
Of course, the biggest problem is the smell! They do not smell good, but once you are use to it...you don't see any problem.
You have to be careful. Your house must be "ferret proof" because they will try to eat anything that can fit into their mouth. It's a precaution to do. They do need a lot of attention...because they act like babies!

It's important to make a cleaning spot check everyday...and wash the cage many time per week, or the odor will destroy your brain lol

Make sure to know a vetenary, because ferret needs frequent check up every years! They can live over 8 years under good condition.

They sell them in the pet shops in Oregon. They are fixed already. I took a road trip up to Oregon and then checked the paper and bought a couple from a breeder and snuck them back thru the border but that was a long time ago-before 9/11 so I'm sure it's not as easy getting thru the border now. I have two and I love them to death! They do stink but they make up for it in how fun they are lol. Yes, they are in every Petco in Oregon but I would have gotten mine from a breeder if I had a choice.
