Bad press and my own experiance but seeing that there are so many people on this site that have them, I may have just had bad luck.
Can you please answer the question for maybe me and other people that might want to know. You might just change my view on Columbians Tegus
Note: I am speaking from my own experience, so if it dose not work for you I am sorry but it did work for me.
Tegus kept me happy in a dark time in my life. So if you say I am crazy for loving these animals, who cares what you think.

Where can we find a good care sheet for a columbian being that they are differant.
the tegu caresheets I have read included colombian tegus. the only difference noted was:
they are the smaller of the tegus
they are carnivores
some do go on to say they are 'skittish'
note: I have talked to people who own colombians and they did tell me that theirs did eat some fruit.

My Colombian will eat fruit if it has the meat smell on it, but I don't think that counts for much...
PROS:
Unique personality.
Easier to feed (carnivore).
Cheaper to maintain with smaller enclosure and less varied diet.
Lower cost than Argentine.
CONS:
Takes longer to tame.
Nippier/whips during taming process.
Some remain skittish as cmopared to Argentines.
