    Default Finally, a fresh shed!

    She's been trying to shed since early November, and it finally happened :wink:

    What a pretty tegu. I'll bet she feels better too. Did you do anything special to help bring on the shed? My little tegu looks very dry and vet said to give her a warm water soak for 20 minutes a day.

    That's 1 thing I did. I guess, they were about 30 minute soaks. Another thing I did was I took a large rubbermaid conatiner(1 big enough for her to stretch out in), put some cypress mulch in it, got it nice and moist, put it outside for 15min to warm up the bedding, and leave her in that for a couple hours a day. Just make sure the bedding's not too wet. Just get it nice and moist On problem spots, you can use Lubriderm for normal skin. Just put a nice light coat on it. Hope that helps :wink:

    Sounds like she had a shed coming right around the same time as hibernation begins. It's rough when they shed that time of year, and are about to go in for the winter.
