Thread: questions about genetic

    Default questions about genetic

hello, I wonder if I can spend some material on genetic differences between t.merianae and t.rufescens to t.teguixin

All this pointed to the hybrids. and that no hybrids between t.merianae and t.teguixin.

I would like scientific evidence on this. or what they can.

    Thank you very much.

PS: Remember that I speak Spanish and I use google translator.

Here's an interesting article, but it may be difficult to translate.

    http://www.vmsherp.com/LCHybridization.htm

I don't know of any hybrids of the t.merianae and t.teguixin, but that's not to say it cannot be done. I don't know if it can be done either. I've heard that most species within the same genus can reproduce, but it may take some manipulation of the breeding behavior (tricking the animals) to get them to actually mate.

Some people would not even consider species within the same genus to be a true hybrid because they would be closely related.

Perhaps someone else can contribute scientific information that is more helpful.

    Thanks for the information.

So far as we can not T.merianae between the T.teguixin by genetic differences that are due to the number of chromosomes and the like.

I'm interested in articles that talk about this.

I have a suspicion that the two could breed and produce live offspring. The question then is would the offspring be fertile or infertile.

I have no scientific evidence, it's just a guess. You are right, it is interesting to discuss!

As far I understand it can not be between T.teguixin and T.merianae.
These genetic differences to the point it would be impossible to playback.
It has to do with the issue of the number of chromosomes that differ in these species.

But in between T.merianae and T.rufescens no problems because they are genetically very similar, including his post by the number of chromosomes
